Science journal 7
This week group 1 did a helicopter out of card and paper and toilet rolls.
Mine looked like the old fashioned helicopter because it had wheels and a propellor. I even added a seat with a person on it.
All the four forces were acting on my paper helicopter: weight, lift, drag and thrust.
My gathering data is relational and my inferences are multistructural.
My wondering is what if you add more weight?

Flight week 9
In science this week I learnt about flying and gliding. I thought they were the same but then I learnt lots of information. I was wrong because gliding has no control over it and flying has control over it.
We have learnt about the four forces weight, lift, drag and thrust. I like weight, it is my personal favourite because if weight was not there the plane would go down because you need weight to keep the plane up.
I wonder what would happen if there was no weight on the plane.
My gathering data is probably relational because my inferences have improved and I used to be Multistructural

It was one sunny day. I said to my mum ”Can we go to the beach?”. Mum said “Yes.” As we are almost there I did a “Musically”, which is an app where you lip sync.
“Yah,” my sister yelled. “We’re there.” We had to wait in the car because my brother was asleep. Another hour went by and finally he woke up. When we got there I was in my togs and I asked mum to go in the water. A couple of minutes went by, then I went too far out! So as I was coming back this wave came at me. My sore stomach was swirling anxiously. All I tasted was sea water. Gasping, all I thought was about my mum. Then my mum saw me and said “Nevaeh!” Then there was the biggest wave ever! It was huge! So then my mum came in the water and we ran together out of the water. As I got out I was petrified. Mumbling I said to my mum “Thank you, you saved my life.” Afterwards my mum gave me a big hug and said in the softest voice “Please don't go out that far again.”
For this writing I learnt to add more punctuation.
My next step will be to add more information.
I think my writing has improved.
As soon as we got to camp I felt a bit nervous. “High ropes,” I scream on the inside. Wow. But when we were at the high ropes I was not up for the “challenge”. As I was halfway up the giant ladder, I said “Can I get down yet?” She said to do one more. I did not hear her so I almost completed the giant's ladder. There were ten left OMG. I looked down. She said I can come down. I was relieved. Although that one was hard, it was a fun challenge. I wonder, I say to myself, if anybody ever fell off. Feeling scared was not the only emotion, I had a frustrated moment because when everybody in my cabin was trying to get to sleep every body just had the time of their life except for some people but again we were all kind of bad. Overall than that a was awesome camp experience.

Week 4: Trebuchet
I observed the trebuchet sling go up. And with not much weight it went a lot further than I expected.
There is a pivot and the counterweight that helps the trebuchet work. You can put anything heavy in the counterweight . There is a long piece of string by the bottom of the trebuchet that you pull and then some how it moves and pulls the sling up.
The distances were amazing because one was a meter long and one went all the way to the end. I am wondering who made this because this is “awesome”.
My gathering data is multistructural because I know a lot of things, more every time. My inferences are unistructural because I am still awhile away

Week 3 with paper balloon rocket experiment We did a experiment on balloon rocket science. I observed the balloon rocket went 2 meters along the string, with paper it moved so slow. It sounded like a dying chipmunk and a fart. The shape was crinkles and round. I think it went like this because the paper at the front stopped it from moving I am wondering where will it stop and how far will it go.

Week 1: Starting to think about science: Gathering and Interpreting Data. Today we were doing a slime experiment. Everybody dumped slime on Mr Anderson and some of the slime was hard and some was soft. We found out that if we just leave it in our hands it will run and be a liquid. But if we but if we squeeze our hands it would be a solid. We had to add more water to make it the right thickness/ liquid and added some vanilla essence because it smelt really bad. Afterwards it smelt good and then a few minutes later it smelt bad again. The slime looked like vomit because it was chunky and green/yellow. I observed the chunky oozes. In my opinion we had the best slime. For inferences I am probably multistructural because I am still learning science. In my opinion I think I improved from last year. I engaged in science at relational because I really like science because you can do so many experiments and activities. Week 2: Balloon Rocket experiment We have done an experiment on a balloon rocket. I have been wondering how does the balloon move. When it’s on the rocket on the straw it moves and creates air and blasts off. I thought that the rocket was really cool. We made a lot of inferences because we expected the balloon to go a little but in a matter of fact it went very far so we were wrong.
